National Recycling Day, November 15th: The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) is a national non-profit advocacy group with members that span all aspects of waste reduction, reuse and recycling in North America. The Coalition represents advocates from every region of the country, in every sector of the waste reduction field. Local recycling coordinators, state and federal regulators, corporate environmental managers, environmental educators and advocates, consumers and waste management professionals are all members of NRC.

Salary: provides salary data for hundreds of job titles in various geographic areas.

Wet Feet: great web site to get salary info (by zip code) and job listings for that occupation

Zip Codes: When looking for a zip code you can go to www.usps.gov for the city/state zip code locator or www.zipcode.com

Kid-Safe and/or Family-oriented Sites (we’ll leave these up indefinitely)

Parents are encouraged to explore these sites with their children and help them understand that the Internet is a very large community and that not all of the Internet is appropriate for them. Check these sites before letting your children explore them so you know what they are likely to encounter. 

Safe Families: TechMission is a non-denominational, non-profit Christian social service organization. A key emphasis of TechMission is outreach, which includes serving everyone regardless of their religious beliefs. TechMission Boston established this website to help families protect their children from pornography and other dangers online. They have a free download of web filtering software.

FirstGov for Kids: provides links to Federal kids' sites along with some of the best kids' sites from other organizations all grouped by subject. Safe for kids to explore, learn, and have fun.

Yahooligans: Yahoo for kids!

Kaboose: an independent family-focused online media company
